Welcome, Flobots fans! If you are visiting the site after getting information at the Flobots’ video filming, I’d just like to say thanks for being so open, friendly, and willing to listen. Our attempt at getting into the video didn’t go so great, but thanks to provocation from the Denver branch of the Church of Scientology in The Gothic’s lobby, we were inspired to hold a mini-protest at the local org.
Maybe some of you noticed a couple of older women with cameras stationed at the doors to the building; they were there waiting for your dear Anonymouses to emerge from the theatre, just to get pictures of us without our masks. You might even have heard them tossing around accusations that Anonymous is a terrorist organization. The two women are staff at the Church of Scientology, and are walking proof that Scientology stalks and harasses its critics. We hung around a little while to talk to people exiting the theatre. The Scientologist’s tactic of trying to surprise us turned into a bit of a footbullet; everyone we talked to was freaked out that a so-called “religion” would feel the need to hang out in the lobby of a music venue just to grab some photos of its critics. Fortunately for us, Anonymous is a pretty cool guy and knows when to suit up with Anonymity. All identities were protected.
Many people took cards or fliers, and that might be why you’re checking us out now. While every one of us in Anonymous has a different reason for being involved, the cult’s habit of attempting to suppress free speech via harassment is a common subject among us. If you take issue with the cult’s tactics and think this behavior is unnacceptable in your beloved Denver, CO, consider getting involved by checking out our forums.
Thanks for your support, Flobots fans. You’re a wonderful bunch of people. We hope to see you around on the Flobots’ activism project, Fight with Tools.
